Abstract

Electrokinetic conversion efficiency was experimentally obtained for the first time. The conversion efficiency of square nanochannel was increased compared to plate nanochannels, which was reasonable for theoretical prediction. In addition, we found that accurate flow rate measurements and consideration of higher viscosity in square nanochannel are necessary. Finally, higher conversion efficiency was verified in lower concentration region, and over 1% conversion efficiency was verified, which was also reasonable for theoretical prediction. The results will greatly contribute to energy conversion device utilizing nanofluidics.
