Abstract

An electronically tunable semiconductor laser capable of generating relatively high-power, narrow band multiple wavelengths with excellent side-mode-suppression ratio was demonstrated. This was realized by using a folded telescopic grating-loaded external cavity with a liquid-crystal pixel mirror (LCPM) at the focal plane of the folded telescope. With 50 pixels, the digital tuning range was 8.12 nm in 0.16 nm steps.
