Abstract

In this paper, the Bluetooth wireless technique is embedded into the digital instrument in order to perform the electric power measurement. With the advent of Bluetooth technology and the piconet concept, the supervision of several measurements can be reached, improving the monitoring efficiency very significantly. However, in view of the different measurements, the paper also proposed the instrumentation information meta language (I2ML) such that the information acquired from various instruments can be better integrated, decreasing the installation task under different platforms. The proposed approach has been tested through different scenarios and platforms; meanwhile, the graphical user interface was also prudently designated in anticipation of increasing the friendliness for engineers. The validated prototype confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for the instrument and measurement applications.
