Abstract
An error bounds estimate procedure to solve the boundary value problem of differential equations is presented in this paper. A good approximate solution and error bounds can be obtained by the proposed approach which combines the method of weighted residuals (MWR) with genetic algorithms (GAs). A nonlinear boundary value problem is studied as an example. The efficiency, accuracy, and simplicity of this approach are illustrated. It shows that the proposed method can be easily extended to solve a wide range of physical engineering problems.
