Abstract

Scattered nearfield measurements are utilized to evaluate a source strength distribution of an arbitrary-shaped body. Then, scattered holographs are obtained by source methods. Two approaches are discussed: (1) scattered pressure measurement approach and (2) particle velocity measurement approach. Three alternative source methods: internal source method (ISM), internal parallel source method (IPSM) and similar source method (SSM), are used in this study. Numerical evaluations are performed in order to verify these source methods. Three alternative source methods for the estimation of the scattered sound field and the problem of non-uniqueness are also discussed.
