Abstract
The evaluation of durability of concrete is a crucial issue in practice. Conventionally, the rapid chloride permeability test (RCPT) proposed by ASTM C1202-07 is often employed to evaluate the durability of concrete in the laboratory. This study presents a simplified method for evaluating durability of concrete based on the resistivity technique. The correlation between the resistivity test and the RCPT was established based on a series of concrete tests. This result demonstrated that the resistivity test is qualified to develop a method for evaluating the durability of concrete in light of the RCPT is an authorized method. A criterion for evaluating the durability of concrete based on the parameter, resistivity, was established. This criterion has a potential to be a useful tool in the evaluation of durability of concrete.
