Abstract
We report measurements on the cobalt oxide superconductors Nax CoO2 · 1.3 H2 O over a wide Na content range x = 0.25 - 0.34, using X-ray diffraction, susceptibility and 59Co nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) techniques. We find that Tc increases with decreasing x but reaches to a plateau for x {less-than or slanted equal to} 0.28, which correlates closely with the NQR frequency that measures the occupancy of the Co 3d-orbitals.
