Abstract

The exact solutions for the free vibration of an elastically restrained non-uniform circular plate with radial thickness varying in arbitrary polynomial form is derived. The frequency equation is expressed in terms of the four fundamental solutions of the governing characteristic differential equation. The four fundamental solutions are exact and expressed in the polynomial forms. The results are compared with those in the existing literature. Finally, the influence of the thickness on the natural frequencies is investigated.
