Abstract
Reactions between alkaline earth sulfate and carbonate under hydrothermal conditions up to 500 degree C have been investigated in order to compare reactions in a CO//2 stream. The products obtained under various conditions are characterized by SEM observations, a X-ray powder diffraction and chemical analysis. Aragonite crystals could be grown up epitaxially on seeds of SrCO//3. The reaction under hydrothermal conditions is proceeded by a dissolution-precipitation mechanism.
