Abstract

Under support of the latest rheometer specially designed and made by the author, the rheological characters of natural viscous debris flow with thick gravel were measured. Squeeze pressure and sliding friction play a major role in action between grains in the initial section(du/dγ < 10 s -1) at low shear rate, and at that time the constitutive stress relation can be described by power formula with stress dilution. Occurrence of viscous debris flow in delaying area surrounding by up and down shear curves indicates that the fluid has thixotropy energy and the thixotropy constitutive relation of viscous debris flows should be researched, passing calculation of thixotropy energy and comparison between thixotropy energy and movement factors.
