Abstract
This paper describes solidification heat transfer experiments which were performed in a rectangular, two-dimensional, open cavity cooled from the vertical sides and the bottom. The focus in the paper is on the evolution of the solidification front and correlation of the frozen fraction of the phase change material with dimensionless time.
