Abstract
The coal transient gasification processes were studied emphasizing on reactor temperature fluctuation, synthesis gas formation, and char reaction. Soon after the coal was fed into the reactor, on grounds of the undulate profile in the temperature of coal reaction, the two-stage reaction of coal gasification was exhibited. A local minimum followed by a local maximum temperature distribution was exhibited. With regard to the produced gas concentrations, the interaction among moisture, volatile matter, and coal particles made the concentrations of H2 and CH4 be relatively high initially, and two gases decayed rapidly with time going. In contrast, in the later period, the formations of CO and CO2 became remarkable when compared with H2 and CH4, as a consequence of char reaction.
