Abstract
CuInSe 2 materials with a chalcopyrite structure were successfully synthesized from binary precursors through the reaction paths: (A) Cu 2Se + In 2Se 3 → 2CuInSe 2, (B) CuSe + InSe → CuInSe 2, (C) Cu 2Se + 2InSe + Se → 2CuInSe 2 via a wet-chemical process. The binary precursors such as CuSe, Cu 2Se, InSe and In 2Se 3 can be synthesized in a facile chemical route from suitable resources at different stoichiometric ratios. The phase analysis, purity, morphology, and thermal stability of the products have been studied by XRD, SEM, EDS, and TGA. The CuInSe 2 produced by this method possess a band gap of 1.05 eV calculated from the UV-vis spectrum.
