Abstract

In this paper, we deal with the relativistic Landau and Boltzmann equations in the whole space R3 under the closed to equilibrium setting. We recognize the finite speed of propagation of the solution which was constructed by Yang and Yu (J Differ Equ 248:1518–1560, 2010). Moreover, the propagation speed can be as close as we want to the maximum speed of the transport part of the kinetic equation.
