Abstract

Applications of block pulse functions to sampled-data systems are developed. A discrete-data function is approximated by a block pulse series expansion. The shift operation matrix of block pulse functions is introduced as the operator of z** minus **1 in z-domain. Parameter estimation and model reduction of z-transfer function are presented.
