Abstract

The kinetics of platelets aggregation on protein-coated surfaces under flow conditions was studied using a PC-based imaging system. When the fluorescence-labeled platelets in whole blood flowing through a chamber, the platelets would deposit onto the protein-coated surface in a time-dependent manner. The application of fractal dimension to characterize the distribution of platelets deposition provided a measure of the degree of correlation between the signal over the time.
