Fuzzy expert system for color reproduction

Abstract

In this paper, a fuzzy expert system is proposed to convert the CIELAB scanner color format into CMYK printer color format to solve the nonlinear mapping problem between the scanner and the printer. Based on the input-output conditions of the color correction system, an efficient algorithm is proposed to extract the fuzzy production rules. Experimental results show that the proposed system bears the merit of proper color correction and short computation time.
