GENERALIZATION OF PLANAR MECHANICAL DEVICES.

The paper presents a set of generalized rules for the generalization of all planar mechanical devices into generalized chains with links and revolute pairs only. The results of this work can be used to extend the application of the systematic design methodology for creative design proposed by the authors from limited planar mechanisms to all possible planar mechanical devices. Examples are shown to illustrate the idea of generalization.
