Abstract

Multivariable adaptive control of a continuous stirred tank bioreactor (CSTBR) via the algorithm of weighed moving identification with an adjustable estimation interval is presented. Control of the reactor is carried out by using the dilution rate and the composition of feeding substrate as the manipulated variables. The dynamic behavior of the CSTBR is nonlinear. By using the proposed method, it is possible to operate the system at a steady state within a limit cycle, or across a separatrix.
