Abstract

A double-pole type of prescription for the unphysical singularities of Yang-Mills theory quantized in the temporal gauge is introduced to study the renormalization problem of the theory in two approaches. The one-loop gluon self-energies in the two approaches are calculated and the renormalization of the theory is seen to be complicated by the fact that the self-energies are non-transverse. A single-pole type of prescription is also suggested.
