Abstract

In this paper, the average lubrication equation for grain flow is solved using a control volume method to analyze the performance of rough slider bearings. The effects of surface characteristics and film particle ratios under various slenderness ratios were investigated. The mean shear stress is derived in terms of shear stress factors. The effects of particle size are discussed and show that roughness effects are pronounced at smaller film particle ratios.
