Growth kinetics of diamond film on diamond composite materials

Abstract

The growth kinetics of diamond on carbon composites was investigated. The microstructure was examined using scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Growth rates were determined at various deposition temperatures and the activation energies were calculated. The activation energies range from 34.7 to 55.6 kJ mol-1, depending not only on the deposition condition but also the substrate used.
