Abstract

Measurements were made of the temperature dependence of reistance R(T) and ac magnetic susceptibility // chi (T) of CeCu//2Si//2, LaCu//2Si//2, CePd//2Ge//2, and LaPd//2Ge//2 up to 20 kb down to 1. 2 K. The results suggest the possible existence of a pressure-induced electron structure change in CeCu//2Si//2 at approximately 1. 5 kb. The R(T) and // chi (T) of CePd//2Ge//2 resemble those of CeCu//2Si//2. Therefore, CePd//6Ge//2 may be a good candidate for heavy fermion superconductivity below 1. 2 K if it does not order magnetically.
