Abstract

A study was made of sintered BaPb//1// minus //xBi//xO//3 superconductors with x equals 0. 20 and 0. 25, resistively and magnetically down to 1. 2K and up to 20 kB. The results show that these samples are inhomogeneous and that there exists a strong Josephson-coupling between the superconducting parts. A re-entrant superconducting transition was observed resistively in the x equals 0. 25 sample. While pressure does not affect the overall nature of the coupling between the superconducting components, it influences the re-entrant transition.
