Abstract
The resistance R and the superconducting transition temperature Tc of Li1+xTi2-xO4 has been investigated under pressure up to 150 kbar. The Tc is enhanced and R is suppressed by pressure. The results indicate that the superconductivity in this oxide system is of d character associated with the Ti sublattice, and that the composition-induced disappearance of superconductivity is caused by the accompanying valence change of Ti ions rather than by the volume reduction.
