Abstract

In this paper, we introduce an approximation in homogenization of a three dimensional elastic metamaterials by a homogeneous equivalent micropolar media whose effective parameters are determined by average theory. Formulations of averaged physical fields over the representative volume element (RVE) together with dispersion relations of plane wave propagation are presented in the text.
