Abstract
Information technology (IT) investment is important for the production of patenting innovation. To better understand IT and innovation relationship, we theorize IT-enabled innovation process as a firm's efforts of recombining existing knowledge and the scope of recombined knowledge. Using large-scale panel data, we find empirical evidence corroborating our theory.
