Abstract
Experimental studies on identification and control of a stirred-tank heater are investigated. A pseudorandom binary sequence signal is used as a test signal. The output of the tank has little effect on the input change. The control system is then identified under normal operating conditions. Direct digital control is given to illustrate that a controller design using the closed-loop identified model gives better results.
