Abstract

The close relationship among the Government, industries and universities is one of the major reasons for the economic success in Taiwan. This paper presents the co-operation procedure of how advanced manufacturing technology is being implemented to provide the industry with competitive advantage. Several case studies are also provided to illustrate the details of the procedure. For most of the people outside Taiwan, an understanding of the current status in Taiwan is certainly a basis for future international co-operation. The objective of this paper is to provide this basis through the introduction of the authors' understanding and experience.
