Abstract

This work presents an innovative IPM rotor design featuring integrated ribs aimed at reducing rotor weight while mitigating stress concentration at high-speed operation. The proposed rotor design efficiently distributes stress, enabling the incorporation of larger holes in the rotor structure, leading to significant weight reduction. Simulation and experimental validation confirmed the effectiveness of this approach in enhancing motor structural performance while simultaneously reducing overall weight. This study contributes to advancing motor design strategies, offering a promising avenue for improved structure and performance in electric motors.
