Abstract
The effects of uniform and non-uniform temperature rises on the optical characteristics of three cavity subnanometer bandpass filters made by TiO2 and SiO2 film materials were studied. The influence of refractive index and layer thickness due to temperature changes and stress were evaluated by means of an analytical model. It was found that a case of non-uniform temperature rise contributed to a more severe degradation of transmission curve than of uniform temperature rise. The existence of intrinsic stress had a significant influence on the optical characteristics of the filter.
