Investigation of artificial recharge in Jiao-Si hot spring area

There are more than 200 hot spring areas in Taiwan that due to the specifically hydrologic condition. As time goes by, the exploitation was increased as the development of tourism. In order to administer the hot spring area and void the overspent exploitation, estimation in hotspring resource and scheme of artificial recharge are the important measures. To evaluate the influence of artificial recharge, the numerical program, TOUGH2, is applied to calculate the effect in different cases that choose by the condition of Jiao-Si area. The results show that the safety yield in this area is plentiful due to the higher hydraulic conductivity of aquifer. There is less temperature and TDS change in the cases that injected deeper, but the increment of exploitation is decreased.
