Abstract

Ceria truncated nano-tetrahedron islands, triangular plate stacks, and columns were deposited using EB-PVD and the application of glancing angle deposition (GLAD). The film surface morphology and nano-structures were characterized using FE-SEM, and TEM, respectively. The {111} facets were the dominant plane on the film surface, and the islands grew in a particular direction toward these plates.
