Abstract

A carbon black film was used to enhance the isolation of ultrawideband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system, which could absorb the interference between two or more antenna elements. We investigated the proportion of carbon black film, coated position and area, and the properties of MIMO antenna system to enhance the isolation in MIMO system. The properties of the carbon black film-coated antenna are as follows: At 2.5-11 GHz, S{11} <-10 dB, and S{21} <-15 dB; average efficiency 69.2%; gain >2.11 dBi; and envelope correlation coefficients <0.02. Results indicate that the film can be applied to various MIMO systems.
