Life cycle assessment in simplified interior construction

Abstract

Facing the Net Zero greenhouse gas emission in 2050 is the important issue in this moment. Carbon emission of whole industry procedure is evaluated by life cycle assessment (LCA). This study focuses on the LCA in interior construction from the raw materials to building materials, transportation, interior installation, usage and maintenance, demolition and recycling. Also considering the carbon footprints evaluation, all related items are included such as materials, transportation, construction in partition, surface of walls, floors, ceilings, and system furniture. The assessment in carbon footprints per square meter of indoor area is setup as carbon equivalent (kgCO2e/m2) during the construction procedure. The database is the standard value by collected and analysed carbon footprint in every part of interior construction. The next step will focus on the parts of usage and maintenance, demolition and recycling.
