Lubrication rheology for ultra thin polymer solutions: A molecular dynamics study

Abstract

This paper discusses the lubrication rheology of polymer solutions and the use of the molecular dynamics (MD) method to analyze molecularly thin polymer film. The effects of polymer concentration, number of molecular layer, system temperature condition, and the squeeze motion are discussed. It shows that the properties of polymer solution in molecularly thin film are different from the bulk properties.
