Abstract

We have measured the magnetic moment of (La//0//. //9Sr//0//. //1)//2CuO//4//-//y as a function of temperature and magnetic field and found magnetically the onset of superconductivity at a temperature T//c//o approximately equals 35K. At 2K, the dc magnetic susceptibility reaches 83% of perfect diamagnetism. From field studies, we have established that the sample is a type-II superconductor and that the temperature dependencies of the critical fields are anomalous.
