Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a polymeric membrane, in which a polymeric membrane having a photonic crystal structure can be formed without containing a cholesteric liquid crystal, furthermore, the produced polymeric membrane has a Bragg reflection property without containing any liquid crystal or liquid, and the manufacturing cost is largely reduced and its applicability is expanded. SOLUTION: A production method comprises processes of a mixing step S01, an illuminating step S02, a diffusion step S03 and a liquid crystal removal step S04. In the mixing step, a liquid crystal monomer mixture is charged into a translucent container by mixing an asymmetric liquid crystal, an optically active additive, a monomer and a photoinitiator to create a liquid crystal monomer mixture.
