Abstract
The single grained Y-Ba-Cu-O (YBCO) bulk material with strong pinning force and strong links has its superior superconducting properties of strong magnetic levitation force, strong magnetic flux shielding, or trapping capabilities. The enhancement in superconductivity can be attributed to the elimination of grain boundary weak links, the introduction of strong pinning centers as well as to the advanced processing methods. With the TSMT method, single grained YBCO samples up to several centimeters in diameter can be produced with very high reproducibility. The results of the TSMT-YBCO sample's superconducting properties as well as their correlation with various materials processing methods are discussed.
