Abstract

This paper analyzed the transportation problem of routing freeway accident victims to selected medical facilities. A Geographic Information System (GIS) based routing system was developed to assist communication and visual display of route information to whom emergency information needed. TRISS was used to judge how serious a victim was injured and what a class of hospital he/she should be sent. Locations of those medical facilities were also evaluated to illustrate their strength and weakness in relieving freeway emergency needs.
