It is shown that a FeSe bulk superconductor prepared by solidification in an inert atmosphere contains an acicular β(Fe 1-xSe) phase with a residual δ(Fe 1-xSe) high temperature phase. Four different crystal orientations of the β(Fe 1- xSe) phase formed from one δ(Fe 1-xSe) grain were detected by polarised light microscopy. This behaviour is typical for diffusion-less transformations. The diffusion-less character of δ(Fe 1-xSe) to β(Fe 1-xSe) transformation was confirmed by thermal analysis.
