Abstract
A new and straightforward approach to mixed μ-synthesis is proposed. The main idea is that the structure singular value can be equivalent to an weighted H2 system norm by shaping a frequency-dependent weight. The resulting controller obtained from a sequence of weighted H2 optimizations may possess robust performance property from μ criterion. Two successful designs are given to stress the superior ability of the H2-based loop-shaping method for mixed μ-synthesis.
