Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the new development of the model pile loading test which studies the relationship between load transfer and displacement around pile shaft. The test apparatus allows the independent control of vertical stress and horizontal stresses. In the analysis, both Cam-clay and modified Cam-clay models, which are developed based upon the plastic strain harding theory of Cambridge critical state, is used to simulate the stress-strain behavior of pile-soil interface and to construct the theoretical normalized t-z curve. Test results of model pile loading test are also compared.
