Modeling and compensator design of LED driver systems

Abstract

After reviewing the equivalent circuit models of the LED, LED array, and the single-loop control CCM LED boost driver, this paper presents the compensator design approach for LED driver systems. The required compensator can be designed according to the subtraction of the magnitude and phase Bode diagrams of the existing open-loop gain from the desired loop gain. The open-loop gain can be obtained from the theoretical equivalent circuit model, the circuit measurement or the circuit simulation result. Considering the 3dB double-power point, the phase margin and gain margin are specified greater than 41.5 degree and 11dB.
