This paper presents a multi-rate control scheme based on a digital redesign approach for cascaded continuous-time input time-delay interval systems. It shows that the states of the multi-rate sampled-data system with the digitally redesigned control law closely match those of the original cascaded continuous-time closed-loop system. The bilinear and inverse-bilinear approximation methods have been developed to carry out discretization of the predesigned cascaded analog controller. A dual concept of the proposed digital redesign method is utilized to estimate states of the digitally redesigned digital observer to closely match those of original continuous-time observer at sampling instants. Using the method, with different sampling rates, the digital redesign of a cascaded continuous-time interval system with different input time delays is accessible in this paper.
