Abstract
To enhance the performance of single- and multi-variate process monitoring methods, a systematic procedure is proposed in this paper to construct run rules on-line. This procedure is in essence developed from the well-established principles for synthesizing optimal alarm generation logics. The effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated with simulation data produced with the Tennessee-Eastman process simulator.
