Abstract
The transport critical current density (Jc) in Bi-2223 tapes with Jc(77K) ∼ 104 A/cm2 was studied under hydrostatic pressure up to 14 kbar. The pressure dependence of the critical current density in Bi-2223 tapes is qualitatively different from that in YBCO ceramics and thin films. In Bi-2223 tapes Jc increases in the initial pressure range with pressure derivatives d(In Jc)/dP in the range 0.06-0.1 kbar-1. At P∼8-12 kbar Jc(P) turns to saturation, while the superconducting transition temperature increases linearly under pressure with dTc/dP ∼ 0.16-19 K/kbar in the entire v pressure range.
