Abstract

A printed chip type antenna using monopole spiral slot structures with system ground for digital video broadcasting-handheld (DVB-H) signal reception in the UHF band is proposed. By utilizing the eight quarter-wavelength spiral slot l a radiator in configuration. In this case, the occupied area of the monopole slot chip antenna on the system circuit board can be further reduced. Antenna has a compact size of 20x20x0.8mm3. It size is minimized so that it can be easily installed to mobile handset. The simulated and measured results show that the impedance bandwidth covers the DVT (470-860 MHz) band with return loss |S11| than 5. The antenna can get omnidirectional radiation pattern in the whole frequency band. The measurement result is agree with simulation.
