Numerical modeling of breaking waves in nearshore environment

Abstract

In this paper a brief review on the nearshore wave breaking processes is given. Various numerical models for calculating the overturning waves are discussed. To account for the turbulence generation and dissipation during the wave breaking processes, the k-ε equation model and the LES approach are also discussed.
