Abstract

The propriety of the design of turbine blade has an effect on the performance of engine efficiency. The thermal design of turbine blade is also seriously influenced by the flow transition phenomenon inside the boundary layer. The transition in turbine cascades is a complex process and is influenced by the Reynolds number, pressure gradient, geometry and free-stream turbulence, etc. In this study, the k - ω turbulence modeling is used to focus on the research of transition phenomenon as well as other problems concerned with heat transfer.
